After Effects Text Animation: Seven Scenes to Customize
Updated November 2, 2026 · By Lienzo
Start your After Effects text animation with one editable project and seven named scene folders. Replace the message, review the scene controls and test the final composition before exporting your video.
Watch the editing video
Watch the English editing video on YouTube. The supplied project uses the exact layer names documented below; labels in the recording may differ.
Download the documented project
Free project and documentation download: 90 KB ZIP (92,220 bytes). Extract the entire archive before opening the AEP. Access the download from this guide; the file is hosted on MediaFire.

Open a working copy
Extract the ZIP, preserve the original and open Text_Animation/2. Main File/Text Animation.aep in Adobe After Effects. Read the included START-HERE guide first. This is a project file, not a plugin or a collection of After Effects text animation presets.
Text animation in After Effects: edit one scene
- Expand
2. To Editand select the scene you want to customize. - Open its edit composition and locate
TEXT HERE!!!. - Replace the source text and choose an available font. Keep layer names intact where expressions reference them.
- Preview the entrance, reading interval and exit. Check the longest phrase at its final output size.
Personalize text effects and color
Look for CHANGE CONTROL HERE!!!. The project contains scene-specific expressions for delay, position, scale, rotation, tracking and cursor behavior. Each scene can expose different controls; a control found in one scene is not promised in all seven.
Color expressions refer to CHANGE COLOR HERE!!! and Fade Color. These names matter: the video/source note uses different labels. The included documentation follows the AEP supplied with this edition.
Render a short test first
Open 1. Master Edit and choose #Final. Start with a short work area, resolve warnings and inspect the saved result before rendering everything. The All Stories name in the older note is not present in this source.
If the result is black, check text content, layer visibility, time range, missing fonts and expression errors. Packaging has not certified a successful render inside After Effects.
Project requirements and limits
Metadata references After Effects 2026 for Windows; a tested minimum version has not been established. The AEP contains TextEvo pseudo-effect definitions and expressions. Their presence alone does not confirm whether an additional installation is required. Review the warnings in your own installation. Font files and installers are not supplied.
Exercise: one clear message
Replace a title with “Make your next idea move.” Choose two brand colors, then compare the moving frames and the stable reading interval. Shorten the message before reducing it to an unreadable size. This is an editing exercise, not an additional animation included in the download.
For sound, explore the sound effects library and intro and fade sounds. For a different text pack, compare the existing kinetic typography resource. Both projects remain separate.
